Every manuscript submitted to SPECTRA HEALTH: Journal of Health and Medical Sciences undergoes a rigorous and objective peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, academic integrity, and relevance of published articles.

1. Initial Evaluation (Desk Review)

Upon submission, each manuscript is first evaluated by the Editorial Team to determine whether it meets the journal's basic requirements. The initial evaluation includes:

• Alignment with the journal's Focus and Scope.
• Compliance with the Author Guidelines and manuscript format.
• Assessment of the manuscript's academic quality and relevance.
• Preliminary screening for plagiarism and publication ethics issues.

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's basic requirements or fall outside the journal's scope may be rejected at this stage without being sent for external peer review (Desk Rejection).

2. Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial evaluation are assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area.

SPECTRA HEALTH employs a Double-Blind Peer Review system. Under this system, the identities of the authors are not disclosed to the reviewers, and the identities of the reviewers are not disclosed to the authors.

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on criteria including:

• Originality and novelty.
• Scientific significance and relevance.
• Methodological rigor.
• Accuracy and clarity of data analysis.
• Quality of the results and discussion.
• Appropriateness and relevance of references.
• Ethical compliance and overall academic quality.

3. Editorial Decision

Following the peer-review process, the Editor will make a final decision based on the reviewers' recommendations and the overall quality of the manuscript. The possible decisions are:

• Accept Submission — The manuscript is accepted for publication without further revision.
• Revisions Required — The manuscript requires minor or major revisions before a final publication decision can be made.
• Decline Submission — The manuscript is rejected because it does not meet the journal's scientific, methodological, ethical, or editorial standards.

When revisions are required, authors must revise their manuscripts according to the reviewers' and Editor's comments and submit the revised version within the specified timeframe.

4. Estimated Review Time

The estimated time from manuscript submission to the first editorial decision is approximately 4–8 weeks, depending on the availability of reviewers, the complexity of the manuscript, and the revision process.

The stated timeframe is an estimate and may vary depending on the circumstances of each submission.

5. Final Publication

Manuscripts that receive final acceptance will proceed to the editorial production process, including copyediting, proofreading, formatting, and final preparation for publication.
