Maintaining academic integrity is one of the highest priorities of SPECTRA HEALTH: Journal of Health and Medical Sciences. The journal is committed to ensuring that all submitted manuscripts meet high standards of originality and are free from plagiarism and other forms of academic misconduct.

1. Similarity Screening

All submitted manuscripts will undergo a similarity check during the initial editorial evaluation and, when necessary, during the final evaluation prior to publication.

The journal may use plagiarism detection and similarity-checking software such as Turnitin, iThenticate, or other reliable plagiarism detection tools.

2. Similarity Threshold

The maximum allowable similarity index is 20%.

The similarity score is used as an initial screening indicator and does not, by itself, determine whether plagiarism has occurred. The Editorial Team may examine the sources and context of detected similarities to determine whether they constitute inappropriate use of previously published material.

Bibliographic references, standard terminology, and properly cited quotations may be excluded from consideration where appropriate.

3. Manuscripts Exceeding the Threshold

If a manuscript has a similarity index exceeding 20%, the Editorial Team may return the manuscript to the authors for clarification, correction, and/or revision before it proceeds to peer review.

If the Editorial Team identifies substantial, intentional, or inappropriate plagiarism, including plagiarism of ideas, text, data, figures, or other intellectual material, the manuscript may be rejected immediately.

4. Post-Publication Plagiarism

If plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct are discovered after publication, SPECTRA HEALTH reserves the right to take appropriate action in accordance with its publication ethics policy. Such actions may include issuing a correction, publishing a retraction or retraction notice, or taking other measures deemed necessary to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.

Authors are fully responsible for ensuring the originality and proper attribution of all material contained in their manuscripts.
